Actually it's Canada that just came out with a new food guide. While there were some improvements to our food guide, it was highly manipulated by big industry.

So you send your kid to school with five bucks for lunch. She comes home and you ask her what she ate all day. You'd prefer she answered "Altoids and seltzer" to "Fries and Hi-C"? Come on.

Not to mention that per calorie - and more importantly per dollar - Haagen Dazs kicks the hell out of freezer pops for nutrition.

Anyway, this is more of a commentary on the lamentable state of parenting, don't you think? I packed my lunch everyday, so my school meals were made with groceries just like my meals at home.
