Bizzarely enough the reviews on this Uwe "The Butcher" Boll movie aren't that bad...

I'm still amazed there's a company out there that's funding these Uwe Boll movies.
Actually the wikipedia article has some interesting insight on it. If a german company funds a movie, and it loses money, it's a 100% tax write off. That suddenly makes more sense. He just is taking advantage of the German government.
That said, he somehow secured a pretty good cast for this one. I like to think that some of these actors can be selective of their films, and thus are picking this one because the script isn't crap. Maybe eventually he'll luck out and make a not horrible video game to movie adaptation... maybe.

The cast is very impressive.

But Lillard's bio doesn't mention Hackers!

Wikipedia needs to update. The Germans changed the law (not to Uwe's benefit). Still he somehow manages to keep getting gigs...
