Animated movie? WTF? I was always under the impression that this would be a live action film?

It better not be a computer generated piece of crap (a la any of the Barbie CG movies, bleeahhccck) - I hope they opt for computer assisted traditional cel animation.

Hang on a second... Kiefer Sutherland for Raistlin? This will either be vindicated as a brilliant decision (Dark City anyone?) or as a painful mistake.

I think Kiefer's voice will be perfect for Raistlin.

Plus the writer and director genre cred is impeccable... the Real Ghostbusters was excellent!

And finally, the producers are working on a Deadlands feature film adaptation - that's smokin'

Did you see that Pyro is voiced by Dee Bradly Baker. I wonder if that's the same Dee Baker that was the frontman for Twisted Sister?

I see the animation is going to be hybrid (trad 2d /3d mix)so that could be good. I'd be really happy if the character and dragon designs were based on Larry Elmore's art. That image he painted of Lauranna standing over Sturm's corpse would make a stunning scene!

Along the same lines, there is a Conan animated film coming soon with Ron Pearlman playing the Cimmerian and a decent cast filling the rest of the roles! Doubly positive is the fact that they are shooting for a R rated film. Huzzah!

Ron Perlman = Excellent.
Conan = Excellent.
Excellent = Excellent, therefore Ron Perlman = Conan.

By corollary it sure looks like this will work well.
