Personally I'm not concerned about the doomsday scenarios that people have surrounded this project with.
That being said I would like to point out that according to the article they are still really in the stages of testing the equipment out.
They were sending a single proton beam around the loop at low energy. They still haven't fired it up full blast or tried to smash anything yet.
I welcome the eventual annihilation of this planet, then I don't have to witness how far humanity will continue to sink. See there is a good side to the end of the world :p
