Yeah, this one is just a huge a loss for me. Between Clarke and Asimov, I grew up with a healthy respect for science and astronomy (both fiction and non-fiction).
Clarke showed me that science fiction didn't have to be dehumanizing or detached from reality. He said it could be hopeful.
Anybody have any specific Clarke they either really liked or really didn't?
