Being a former tech and knowing whats wrong with computers in advance, I have seen this kinda thing when bringing parts in for replacement. It really is ridiculous.

It's sad, really. But, the same could be true of almost any repair service industry - such as automotive repair... part of the reason why it's a handy thing to have friends who are good at the things that you are not.
Yeah, it makes you want to eat your own feet. Uhm... maybe that's just me.
