CBC article on Notices being sent by ISP's on behalf of copyright holders to "IPineers" and other such freebooters.
Has anyone received a nasty e-mail from NBC, the Business Software Alliance or anyone else?
Michael Geist is the media darling of IP law in Canada. Here are his thoughts on the "notice and notice" system.

I don't mind a "notice and notice" system, but then again, I'm not really big into downloads.
The draconian systems in use in the US should not serve as a model to anybody I would hope - perhaps our more tempered and measured system will prevail? (shya, right , and monkeys might fly out of my butt)
Well it certainly beats the extortionist methods the RIAA employs in the US.
Will it stay like this, I hope so but I doubt it.
While reviewing some of Geists other articles, I came across this article on Vista - worth checking out:

P.S. How do I set up a hyperlink in the comments section?
Using "href" tags.
I'll send you an email that shows you the syntax.
Fuck I hate Microsoft, VISTA can die.
LONG LIVE APPLE
I occasionally follow Geists articles we could definitely use a few more of him.
XP, Vista, OS huh? and Service Pack Wha?
It's the third party stuff that determines if my 100% natural computer flavoured snack can run Oblivion properly anyway, so I'm just going to hit the snooze bar on Microsoft's marketing cycle.
Mmmmm, snoozbar.
I have to agree with Rainswept. I'm not switching over until my apps of choice work flawlessly on Vista.
FFXI, my mmo of choice, can't install on Vista, but apparently if you copy all th efiles over from an XP install, and manually edit the registry it works fine. But that's a lot of work just to switch to an OS with no other improvements I care about.
Once some DX10 games come out, and if I'm impressed by what they can do, then I might make the move.
