I think it's like Red Dead Redemption meets war of the worlds, starring Han Solo and James Bond.
I haven't figured out whether I'm excited about it being good or excited that I'm going to watch it anyways and either love it or have a great time laughing at it :)

Apparently the filmmakers have made a serious effort to ensure that this isn't a chuckle-fest parody (or, since Jon Favreau is directing, another Iron Man), but is instead an action packed western, featuring aliens.
So far everything I've heard and read makes me excited to see this.
I'm with you man - 2011 has some fantastic potential for scifi and fantasy movies in general. It's very exciting to see other genres crossing over into science fiction and fantasy.
wtf.... I'm going to watch it, but I'm going to have to remove the logic part of my brain first
