I put my phone number on the national Do-Not-Call list today.

I recommend that you all do the same. I'm praying to any god that will listen that Capital One / Mastercard will now have to get out of my life permanently (and to hell with those asses who want us to buy some to good to be true travel deal).

Yeah,
I put my number in on day 1, before the servers crashed. Bear in mind that it takes a month or two for everything to be processed. And, if you are still doing business with a company (your bank, Capital One) they can still call you. However you can request that said company put you on their Do-Not-Call-List (which I've done with my bank).

In a funny side note, here in the advertising world all the Direct Mail sellers are dancing for joy 'cause they think more businesses will return to mail advertising now that phone solicitation is in trouble, and that people will read the crap in the mail now that they don't have as many annoying calls. I can't tell if they're naive or stupid...
