Garfield minus Garfield

Stumbled across this and enjoyed it greatly, hope you do too.

"Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolor disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? Friends, meet Jon Arbuckle. Let’s laugh and learn with him on a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against lonliness and methamphetamine addiction in a quiet American suburb."

That's so awesome.

There are pages of them, I actually prefer these to the real Garfield cartoons.

I think it was about grade 6 when I realized that rehashing the same old lazy, lazagna, (john's a) loser jokes just wasn't funny. If only Jim Davis had figured out how to bring such a fresh new approach to his work. Oh well, I'm sure he's enjoying his 'sell-out' margaritas somewhere nice and warm.
